Hi! My name is Danielle and I hand make these unique earrings using ethically sourced butterfly wings from South America and Bougainvillea petals found in Key West.

This butterfly and Bougainvillea jewelry adventure began in December of 2017 when my daughter Janelle was twelve years old, but our enthusiasm for creating and selling began with shells when Janelle was three! We started our jewelry line by playing with three different color Bougainvillea bushes in our backyard. We loved the idea that the flowers are native to Key West just like us, making our jewelry that much more personal. I worked at The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory back then and began working with the same butterfly farms!

We were ecstatic when we started selling our jewelry to several local stores. Between school, work and now our new business, we were extremely busy! Janelle is now a legal adult and has passed her job down to my step kids, Ruslan and Elaina. Ruslan wanted to try selling our jewelry at local markets, so the three of us started a new chapter of this adventure January 2024. At these markets, customers would constantly ask us why we didn't have an online store (Janelle and I had created an Etsy account in 2018, but never finished setting it up). Their enthusiasm about our jewelry made us log into the old Etsy account and begin adding items right away!
